Outdoor Activities


El Malpais National Monument  - features jagged spatter cones, a lava tube cave system, and ice caves.

​

Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave - situated on the Continental Divide, walk over an ancient lava trail, through twisted, old trees to the Ice Cave. Another trail winds around the Bandera Volcano to view one of the best examples of volcanic eruption.

​

La Ventana Natural Arch - this geological formation is the second largest arch in New Mexico.

​

Acoma Sky City - 70-acre sandstone mesa rising 367 feet above the valley floor. Acoma continues to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the United States. 

​

Mount Taylor - an elevation of 11,300 feet, this towering mountain is comprised of thick lava flows and extrusive domes due to volcanic eruptions millions of years ago.

​

Coyote Del Malpais - for the golf lover, this hidden gem offers challenges for golfers of any skill level.

Junkyard on 66 Brewery - For the RVers, the brewery offers a free over night stay, subject to space availability.  Find us on Harvest Host.  Note: there are no RV hook-ups/services.

Indoor Activities

​

New Mexico Mining Museum - Grants used to be the Uranium Mining Capital of the World.  The mining museum takes you down so you can experience what some of the men and women of this community experienced in helping to win the cold war.

​

Uranium City Winery and Treasures - A fantastic little winery located in the heart of Grants right on Main Street or Route 66.  

​

Elkins Brewery - A nice little brewery located in an RV Park!

​

West Movie Theater - This movie theater has been part of Grants since the boom time of the Uranium Mines.  The theater just enjoyed an upgrade and is a great place to catch a movie.

Sports - with multiple TVs, the brewery can accommodate your favorite sport and team.

Grants High School All Class Reunion - held at the brewery the last weekend of July.

​

ArtsCrawl in Downtown Gallup - held in Gallup every second Saturday of the month, April - December.

​

Balloon Fiesta Live - held in Albuquerque at Balloon Fiesta Park.  October 1-9, 2022.
